Ocean Science Analytics is using open-access data from the Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI) in combination with accessible remotely sensed data to study a dynamic environment along the coastal northeast Pacific Ocean. Specifically we are looking at the influence of the recent warm water anomaly on marine mammal habitat use through exploration of environmental variables and vocal foraging activity.
LEARN MORE OOI WebsiteAs part of a study funded by BOEM and led by Tetra Tech, Inc. characterizing the mechanical noise generated during the removal of conductors from an existing oil rig in offshore waters of Southern California, Ocean Science Analytics analyzed passive acoustic data to determine occurrence of marine mammals within the study area.
Learn MoreOSA contributed to this project through analysis of long-term passive acoustic data collected from a hydrophone located on the Lofoten-Vesterålen Ocean Observatory (LoVe Ocean) located in Norway.
Learn More LoVe WebsiteWe processed passive acoustic data collected during the 2018 Pacific Region International Survey of Marine Megafauna (PRISMM) conducted by Fisheries and Oceans Canada to obtain an acoustic-based density estimates of Dall's and harbour porpoise.
Learn MoreOcean Science Analytics is currently involved in the software aspects of a real-time dolphin whistle detection and display project.
LEARN MOREOcean Science Analytics is excited to participate as an Early Adopter of the upcoming NASA PACE mission. The Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem mission includes measurements of the distribution of plankton and algal species, having far reaching implications for monitoring coastal and offshore ecosystems.
