Yuli Martinez is a Research Analyst focused on ecosystem-based monitoring projects and spatial data analysis. She graduated from CSU San Marcos in the fall of 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in ecology and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at CSU San Marcos, studying phytoplankton communities in Southern California.

During her undergraduate studies, Yuli developed a deep interest in the ocean and marine organisms, which has continued to grow through her academic and research experiences. At Ocean Science Analytics, she plays a key role in marine protected area (MPA) monitoring initiatives using the app eOceans and data contributed by local experts.

Over the course of her career, she has built strong skills in data analytics and spatial tools and is currently gaining additional expertise in R for ecological analysis. Her analytical aptitude and expanding technical skillset enable her to contribute meaningfully to a wide range of ocean science and conservation efforts.

Outside of ocean science research, Yuli enjoys traveling, indoor rock climbing, and various outdoor activities. She is also taking steps to become an ocean conservation advocate and hopes to use her skills to inform and inspire others to help protect our oceans.
