Jennifer Pettis Schallert, owner of BioSci, L.L.C., is a Scientist with 20 years of experience working in academic, government, and private consulting science settings. During the majority of her career she has focused on science that has supported regulatory efforts and management decisions. One of Jennifer’s foremost passions is creating tools that make scientific information accessible to regulators and/or clients, enabling them to make decisions about their study topic based on the best available science. Jennifer’s positions previous to BioSci have been at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries, Anchor Quantitative Environmental Analysis, City of San Diego, and Agility Clinical (currently Precision for Medicine).

As a result of this experience Jennifer has developed scientific expertise in data collection, database management (SQL, Oracle 10g) and data analysis (R, SAS, MATLAB, LaTeX, Python). In addition, Jennifer has a strong understanding how regulatory and resource agencies work during various regulatory and permitting processes. She has had first-hand experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NOAA Fisheries, US Fish and Wildlife Service, EPA, Regional Water Quality Control boards and the FDA.

Jennifer completed her Master of Science degree at Georgetown University in 2004 with her thesis on dolphin echolocation and a Bachelor of Science at University of Kansas in 1999. In her spare time she enjoys running, going to the beach, yoga and spending time with her husband and three children.
